5 taken into custody for allegedly stealing nearly 0,000 from Dollar General location

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRC) – Five people have been arrested for allegedly stealing nearly $400,000 from a Dollar General Location.

According to WALA it isfive people were taken into custody by the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office in Mobile, Alabama for their alleged involvement in a possible organized theft operation at a Dollar General at 10477 Ramsey Road.

Citing authorities, the station reported that the location had lost a total of $385,246 in inventory since opening its doors on March 26, 2023. After reviewing hours of surveillance video, authorities suspected assistant manager Brittany Forrest, store employee Calie Kent and three other persons. who were not employed by the company, identified as Irial Forrest, Carl Kent and Ophia Gordon, as believed to have been involved.

When speaking to station reporters, authorities said the non-employees were relatives or friends of Forrest and Kent.

All five suspects were arrested last Thursday and are charged with organized shoplifting.

Police told WALA that additional arrests in this case are possible.
