Democrat says it’s time for the left to rebrand

In the aftermath of Donald Trump’s election victory, many Americans, especially those associated with the Democratic Party, felt depressed, angry, pessimistic, and even anxious about the future.

Many looked for someone to blame and found themselves pointing the finger at the Republican party and everyone who voted for it.

However, one Democrat shared a different perspective online, highlighting the left-wing party’s shortcomings that resulted in the loss of the election and the American people’s trust.

A registered Democrat said it’s time for the left to “rebrand.”

Like many of us, Horace Gold woke up Wednesday morning disappointed with election night turnout and results, and has done some research since.

While dealing with his emotions of sadness and despondencyGold came to realize that while the Republican Party certainly has its imperfections, the Democratic Party is not innocent either.

The truth is that Trump won the popular vote with no less than 73 million voteswhile Kamala Harris received 69 million. As challenging as it may be for some to accept, it is clear that the majority of Americans would rather have a Trump presidency than a Harris presidency.

This was not the case in the 2016 or 2020 elections, in which Trump lost the popular vote to Hillary Clinton by nearly 2.9 million votes and President Joe Biden won the popular vote by a four-point margin over Trump. In fact, Trump is the first Republican candidate in two decades to secure the popular vote.

While many Democrats are scratching their heads and wondering how they lost to perhaps one of the most divisive and controversial candidates in history, Gold pointed out that the answer can be revealed by taking a hard look in the mirror.

The Democrat claimed that “it’s less judgmental” to be a Republican.

On their websitethe official Democratic party describes itself as ‘the party of inclusion’.

“As Democrats, we respect differences in perspective and faith, and we pledge to work together to move this country forward, even when we disagree… we don’t just look for common ground – we strive to reach a higher level reach,” the website reads.

Still, Gold insisted the Democratic party has not lived up to this claim.

“We are the party that says: ‘Did you pronounce one thing wrong? You’re a fanatic, and it’s like, where’s the mercy for humanity? Gold asked. “Sometimes we are ruthless towards humanity.”

He claimed that Republicans are the most hospitable party.

“I think it’s cool to be a Republican now, in a crazy way,” he said. “The branding is much more inclusive. It’s a wide net. Everyone is welcome to be a Trump supporter, and among them it is less judgmental.”

He also noted that Democrats tend to focus too heavily on the issues affecting big cities.

It is much more likely that large cities, such as New York and Los Angeles, are left-leaning and vote Democratic. As a result, both candidates and voters tend to focus on issues that impact these areas, rather than on issues that impact the rural areas that make up most of America.

“We can become very regional with our beliefs and have these conversations about communism, socialism and Marxism,” Gold said of the Democratic party. “This is a conversation in LA.”

“They don’t talk about that in the middle of Louisiana,” he continued. “They say, ‘Why is the gas so high?'”

Unless you have experienced life in some area, you will never understand what they really need to thrive, nor should you tell them what issues to worry about.

“Sometimes I have to catch myself assuming what people in small towns want and need,” Gold admitted.

The economy was one of the biggest motivators for Trump voters.

According to a Gallup poll most Americans believe they are in much worse economic shape than they were four years ago some of the biggest price shocks the country has experienced since the 1970s.

More than a third of Americans difficulty paying for groceries, 78% are concerned about the increase The energy costs of the house, and 63% cannot even buy a house. The average cost of a home has increased up more than $100,000 since the fourth quarter of 2020, and mortgage rates have more than doubled since the start of 2021.

Most of the people suffering from high prices and struggling with the cost of living are part of the American working class, who often have to take on multiple jobs and additional shifts to meet the necessities of life.

Trump has made promises to fix the economy, and his proposals caught the attention of many voters.

He proposed a series of tax cuts aimed at helping lower- and middle-class workers, as well as retired Americans. Trump plans to exempt Social Security benefits from federal income taxes and proposed the idea of also exempting overtime and tip income, which would benefit many working-class families.

It is important to note; however, that many financial experts and economists warn that his plans to impose tariffs will worsen inflation and cause the cost of goods for American consumers to rise.

As Harris came forward policy ideas that would unburden working-class Americansincluding a middle-class tax break that would benefit “more than 100 million Americans,” some felt it was not entirely clear how she wanted to do that, leading to uncertainty among many voters.

Much of the Democratic party’s focus during Harris’ campaign was on reproductive rights, uplifting the LGBTQ+ community, and immigration. While these are all certainly important issues worthy of presidential attention, apparently more Americans were concerned about them can pay their bills and afford a house.

Now the man is urging the Democratic party to make some serious changes if it wants to be successful in future elections.

The battle for Democrats is not over, and if they want to win the 2026 midterm elections and ultimately the 2028 presidential elections, Gold insists a major rebranding is necessary.

“As a party we need to go to these places and really be part of these communities before we try to tell them what they need,” he said.

While Harris focused on her social media presence, appearing on talk shows and podcasts and welcoming rappers to the stage at her rallies, Trump visited rural communities and areas full of concerned working-class citizens.

Although Gold admitted he did not understand their reasoning, it is clear that many Americans have confidence in Trump’s plans and believe he knows what is best for the country.

“At this point, I have to stop assuming that I know what’s best for you because I don’t even know you,” Gold concluded. “How can I know what’s best for you?”

Although Trump will hold the Oval Office for the next four years, Democrats still have work to do.

If the Democratic Party wants to repair its image, they must be open to all perspectives from different groups of people.

The party should strive to reach voters from all demographics and propose structured plans on how they want to improve the economy, as this is clearly what a majority of Americans care about most.

While it may be a challenge for some Democrats to avoid calling everyone who voted for Trump a bigot or a racist, this election should be a wake-up call that they must strive for more inclusivity if they want the support of the masses earn.

It is highly unlikely that 73,562,996 Americans are full of hatred and bigotry. Like those in the Democratic Party, they had concerns and reasons why they chose to vote for Trump. Their focus and concerns are simply different than those of the other side.

You are entitled to sadness and frustration after the elections. In any case, let yourself feel all the emotions and practice self-care. However, if you’re a Democrat and don’t self-reflect on what your party has done wrong, don’t be surprised if Republicans continue to dominate the election.
