Fallen Channel 7 star Andrew O’Keefe makes his first appearance in Sydney after narrowly escaping a jail sentence last month

Disgraced former Channel 7 star Andrew O’Keefe was spotted in court in Sydney for the first time since his appearance, where he was told “the next step is jail” if he were to appear in court again.

O’Keefe was seen outside his home in Vaucluse in the city’s eastern suburbs on Friday afternoon getting out of a black Mercedes sedan.

The former Deal or No Deal presenter wore a light-colored shirt and white trousers with a man’s bag over his shoulder.

At one point the 52-year-old former Weekend Sunrise presenter, once one of the highest-paid stars on Australian television, donned a pair of green gloves as he wheeled in a spare tire.

In October, O’Keefe pleaded guilty to trespassing, breaching an AVO and possession of a prohibited drug.

He had confronted a man at a property in Point Piper – where he was not legally allowed to stay due to an AVO – on July 28 before being arrested by police following a traffic stop.

O’Keefe was released on bail but arrested again at Rose Bay police station on September 16 when police said they found crystal meth in his car during a search.

A day earlier, he had overdosed on heroin at a party and had to be revived by paramedics.

During his sentencing, Magistrate Jacqueline Milledge ‘assured’ the former TV personality that he would face possible jail time if he reoffended.

Magistrate Milledge had previously ordered him to undertake rehabilitation as a condition of his sentence.

“You’ve been given many opportunities to address your drug use,” she told O’Keefe.

“I can assure you that the next step is prison. I don’t just say that, I absolutely mean it.

“It’s become a state where the court would think you just can’t be rehabilitated.”

His lawyer Jahan Kalantar previously argued against the charges on his behalf.

The court was told that a harassment charge relating to the Point Piper incident has been dropped.

“This, Your Honor, is what we say is the final intersection,” Kalantar told the court.

He said there was “no more serious” lesson than his client almost dying from a drug overdose and asked the court to impose a non-custodial sentence.

Magistrate Jacqueline Milledge candidly told O’Keefe that his life had “just gone completely off the rails” and that it was his responsibility to fix the problem.

“I know that domestic violence is a factor in your offending and that is terrible, really terrible,” she said.

“You got caught in the grip of something terrible and the wheels fell off.”

The magistrate said she remembered saying “God help you” to O’Keefe during an earlier court appearance.

“Personally, I’m disappointed that you are where you are and that you haven’t been able to get back on your feet,” she said.

“I just wish you could get back into a position where you can do something for the community again.”

It comes just weeks after O’Keefe was told by the same magistrate that he was ‘lucky to be alive’ after emergency services rushed to his home in Vaucluse following a heroin overdose.

He has waged a public battle against drug addiction and has been in and out of rehabilitation centers for the past three years.

The former Channel 7 presenter was previously convicted of domestic violence after a ‘humiliating’ attack on a woman.

His attempt to overturn the convictions was rejected last month.
