Woman caught shoplifting nearly ,000 worth of merchandise in Enfield

ENFIELD, Conn. (WWLP) – Five shoplifters were arrested in Enfield during a police operation to reduce shoplifting over the festive period.

According to Enfield police, one of the shoplifters arrested on Monday was caught with nearly $4,000 worth of merchandise while she was with her 12-year-old child. The woman had two active warrants for theft in different cities.

During the operation carried out by Enfield Community Police Officers in conjunction with loss prevention, a total of five people were arrested for shoplifting from various stores.

Police work with retailers to identify and arrest shoplifters. They say theft causes expensive items, job losses and store closures.
