Avia Solutions Group expands fleet with order for 40 Boeing 737-8 jets, eyeing 40 more

One of the world’s largest aviation solutions providers, Avia Solutions Group (ASG), ordered 40 737-8 aircraft from Boeing with the potential to order an additional 40, Boeing announced Tuesday.

Avia Solutions Group is the world’s largest ACMI (aircraft, crew, maintenance, insurance) provider.

“As the world’s largest ACMI provider, transporting more than 35 million passengers for our customers annually, we are committed to a strategic approach to expanding our capacity to meet the seasonal needs of our customers,” said Gediminas Ziemelis , chairman of ASG. “Our first order with Boeing is an important pillar of this.”

“This is a proud moment for all of us at Avia Solutions Group and is testament to the fact that Avia Solutions Group is now entering a clear phase of sustainable growth,” Ziemelis added. “These 737 MAXs will enhance our airlines’ fleets, providing their customers with both operational flexibility and greater fuel efficiency.”

Boeing said the 737-8 is the most versatile single-aisle aircraft on the market, capable of operating profitably on short- and medium-haul routes.

Boeing also said the aircraft’s flexibility is crucial for an ACMI operator like ASG, allowing it to provide additional capacity to airlines during peak travel periods.

“ACMI providers like Avia Solutions Group provide important, flexible capacity to meet the dynamic demand in our industry,” said Brad McMullen, Boeing Senior Vice President of Commercial Sales and Marketing. “We are honored that Avia has selected Boeing aircraft to help meet its customers’ demand.”

“By choosing the 737-8, Avia Solutions Group is aligning with its customers’ plans to operate increasingly fuel-efficient fleets that improve the passenger experience,” McMullen added.

Boeing said the 737-8 can seat between 162 and 210 passengers, depending on the configuration of the individual aircraft, and also has a range of up to 3,500 nautical miles.

Passengers aboard the 737 MAX jets will experience features designed to create a “spacious, relaxing environment, including the Boeing Sky Interior and customizable LED lighting,” according to Boeing.
