A dental chain that claims to have reimagined the dental practice experience is preparing to open a second location in Arlington.

Tend, which plans to open in February at 1421 S. Hayes Street, will offer general dentistry, orthodontics, cosmetic services and more with a self-described “spa-like” atmosphere. Some of the recent ‘Medtail‘ trend, Tend is opening in retail spaces, calling the locations soothing “studios” that patients look forward to visiting.

Tend relies heavily on convenience and modernity Instagrammable interior design and “state-of-the-art technology.” An appointment booking app allows patients to select a flavor of toothpaste and queue up for a television program to watch during their appointment.

The Nashville-based chain has rapidly expanded across the DC area since its founding in 2019, adding seven new locations in the past three years, including one at 4201 Wilson Blvd in Ballston.

The chain continues to expand and grow its presence on the East Coast in cities such as New York and Boston $72 million in equity financing in August to support these plans.

Tend is currently hiring staff including dentists, dental hygienists and assistants in the DC area, according to signs posted in the windows of the future Pentagon City practice

The company did not respond to requests for comment.
