But some fans raised eyebrows at LaPaglia’s sudden interest in becoming a hardcore fan of the 34-year-old Swift, especially after she previously expressed her distaste for the Swiftie fandom.

In one video fans have now recirculated on X (formerly Twitter), LaPaglia was heard telling her BFFs podcast co-host Dave Portnoy that “Swifties are so annoying” in a previous episode from earlier this year.

When Portnoy, who identifies as a fan of the “Anti-Hero” singer, fired back, “ain’t the way to win us over,” LaPaglia replied, “I don’t want to be a Swiftie.”

Many of Swift’s fans have been skeptical that LaPaglia’s newfound support for the singer has more to do with “influence“And”click bait” instead of genuine interest, and some even claimed not “earn‘night tickets close due to her previous comments.

However, tons of Swifties came to LaPaglia’s defense, arguing that it was okay someone who changes his mind about an artist.

Others also urged LaPaglia deserved a “little mercy” for her previous statements, which were made when she was still in a relationship with a country singer Zach Bryanof whom she has since accused being emotionally abusive throughout their relationship.

“She’s Going Through a Breakup with a Toxic, Abusive Man; and Has Used Taylor Songs and Lyrics to Heal,” wrote one user in defense of LaPagalia. “Many people only understand the knowledge when they experience something and realize that her lyrics are recognizable and cathartic. I would like to give her grace about this.”

“I really believe she needs our community right now and we need to support her,” said another echoed.

Another user said“I’ve been watching her videos of her listening to Tay’s songs for the first time and I’m actually pretty excited for her!! she’s evolving lol.”
