‘I don’t think he could’ – Carl Froch doesn’t believe Jake Paul took it easy against Mike Tyson in ‘terrible’ fight

‘I don’t think he could’ – Carl Froch doesn’t believe Jake Paul took it easy against Mike Tyson in ‘terrible’ fight

Carl Froch doesn’t believe Jake Paul’s post-fight comments after Mike Tyson’s win.

The 27-year-old YouTuber turned boxer defeated the 58-year-old heavyweight legend in a disappointing affair on Friday eveningalthough many were relieved not to see a knockout.

After a moment in the third round when Tyson appeared to falter slightly from a few punches from Paul, the American appeared to take a step back.

For the rest of the match, Iron Mike looked vulnerable, but Paul didn’t score a KO.

He said afterwards that he got off the gas because he didn’t want to hurt Tyson.

“It was nonsense, wasn’t it?” Froch said on his YouTube channel“Let’s be honest, the fight itself was horrible…

“It seemed like Mike Tyson just showed up to play his part in this little circus.

And Jake Paul was either too scared to stay in contact with Mike Tyson, or he was true to his word, he didn’t want to hurt him, he didn’t want to knock him out.

“But I don’t think he could have done it, I don’t think Jake Paul is good enough.

“Let’s not forget that Jake Paul only had one professional boxing match and that was with Tommy Fury and he lost that fight. Tommy Fury’s kind of British level at his best.

“But yes, the fight itself was a huge anticlimax. It was fucking bullshit. It was a waste of time. I’m glad I didn’t stay up late watching it.

“All the people who paid good money to be there and watch it must be disappointed with that performance.

“I’m not taking anything away from Mike Tyson. He’s 58 years old. He can only do what he can do. He’s got an old body.

“But Jake Paul also put in a great performance.

“I don’t like the way he tries to say he didn’t really try because I think he did try at some points. He did have a swing.

“Jake Paul really didn’t want to get involved. I don’t think he had the bottle to stand in front of Tyson and try anything to get him out of there.”

Froch concluded by once again making his case for fighting Paul himself.

“He’s talked about me before,” Froch added, “and there will be people who say, ‘Oh, Carl Froch is talking about himself. He’s after a payday.’

“Listen, I’m not looking for a payday, I’m doing well, there are no problems with my finances.

“But I’ll take the damn payday, of course.

“And I’ll beat Jake Paul with one punch. I would go in there with one arm and beat this guy.

“He can’t box. He is absolutely useless, which we saw last night with Mike Tyson.
