Most weekend players tend to sit back at impact, or ‘dump’ the club too early. The culprits: not enough body turn or weight shift on the decline.

Try this: make a swing and create a divot near your sidewalk. Yes, your foot drop. Make another swing and dig out another divot just before the first. Continue doing this six more times, making a divot slightly before the last in a half-circle pattern, mimicking the proper swing path as shown above.

Of course you will learn how to orient yourself downward series and exercise to get each divot into position. Sure, it’s a bit of an exaggeration, but this exercise gives you the right feeling to produce a high compression impact without leaning back. Now pass on the grass seed.
