For nature and outdoor enthusiasts, getting a bird’s eye view of a natural landscape is an achievement to celebrate. However, this has to be done safety in mind.

Shared in a Reel on Instagramone hiker nearly slides off a cliff, and the dangerous actions endanger others as well.

On the bill Tourons of national parks (@touronsofnationalparks), the film shows a group of hikers forcing a boulder down a cliff, and one of the hikers in the group almost goes down with it. The boulder tumbles along with smaller rocks, damaging and possibly causing damage to neighboring trees national park visitors and wildlife in the process.

When visitors ignore it safety rules and recommendations bee national parksnot only their own well-being is at risk, but also the valuable nature reserves. From traveling along designated trails, boardwalks and cliff railings to getting extremely close to wildlife, safety rules are set to protect other visitors, as well as the natural habitats that thrive on protected lands.

According to an article from the Wall Street Journalnational parks in the United States – Zion, Yellowstone and more – have experienced similar situations with increased visitor congestion, long wait times and prevent vandalism. Tourists have been accused of damaged areas in California Joshua Tree National Parkallegedly spray-painting graffiti, going past gates and forging unauthorized paths through protected land.

Unruly and disrespectful behavior within national parks also poses a threat to nature delicate ecosystems what national parks are designed to protect. As is the case in the Instagram rolethe visitors damaged plant life and disturbed animal habitats with their actions.

National parks are special places that make that possible connect with natureand it is important for all of us to do what we can to ensure the conservation of future generations.

“They should be arrested and banned from any state or federal park for life,” one user wrote on Instagram.

“Total disregard for the animals, the foliage and anyone on a path below,” another commented.
