Candace Cameron Bure watched Full House for the first time in a while: 'Oh... I understand why the show hasn't been off the air for 35 years'

Streaming has allowed old and new fans to watch classics and new favorites, including Full house. The TGIF sitcom is one of the best shows streaming on Max and is still popular to this day, even almost 30 years after the finale. As I watched the series for the first time in a while, Candace Cameron Bure came to a realization about Full house‘s popularity.

The former Hallmark star was a guest of Andrea Barber and Jodie Zoetin‘S Full house rewatch podcast How rude, Tanneritos!co-hosting with Barber. The two were discussing and recapping Season 3 Episode 22, “Three Men and Another Baby,” in which the Tanners babysat a neighbor’s child while Joey was stumped by DJ’s math homework. Bure shared her excitement about co-hosting with Barber and what she realized while watching Full house:

I haven’t seen Full House in so long, so many years. I watch the episode, I laugh out loud, and then I thought, ‘Oh, now I understand why the show has never been off the air in 35 years.’ I’m like, ‘This is so sweet, it’s so cute, like all things.’

While Full house may not exactly be airing new episodes on ABC anymore, but it’s still a consistent fan favorite on streaming and is one of the sitcoms perfect for long-term viewing with nine seasons. The series ran from 1987 to 1995 and even found new fans, which is why the series remained so popular Fuller house sequels lasted five seasons for those with a Netflix subscription. It’s sweet that Bure is now actually coming to terms with how magical Full house was and still is and why it appeals to so many people. From the viewer’s point of view that is!

Candace Cameron Bures Full house rewatch comes months after she responded to a local news story that adds ’90s flair with a DJ segment taking the SATs, proving that even an episode from the ’90s can still have highly relevant content in today’s times. It’s another reason why the show is still beloved retro theme song that still claps. Whether Bure watched the entire series or just the single episode is unknown, but now I need her opinion on the rest of the series.

Even though Bure isn’t looking Full house very often she still posts about the show from time to time. She before celebrated 36 years of being cast as DJ Tanner in 2023 and shared sweet throwback photos of her and Scott Weinger on screen. Plus, despite her, she’s still close to a lot of the cast feud with Jodie Sweetin. Apart from appearing on How rude, Tanneritos!she gave good wishes to Dave Coulier following his cancer diagnosis was made public and is often spoken highly of the late Bob Sagetwho died in 2022, and talks about how much she misses her on-screen father.

It wouldn’t be surprising if Full house will continue to make people laugh for years to come. Even if it’s not one of the best sitcoms of all timethe show still comes pretty close. The comedy got a revival even then maybe a restart wasn’t necessary. Whether it will or not another series in the future with a Golden girls-like curved is unknown, but for now those with a Maximum subscription can laugh and cry while watching Full housejust like Bure.
