Andrew Garfield makes it clear that Spider-Man is still being asked questions ten years after the premiere of his films

After Andrew Garfield surprised Marvel fans everywhere by entering Spider-Man: No way home alongside Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire, we wouldn’t be surprised if the actor is asked if he’s taking part upcoming Spider-Man movies and TV shows for years and years to come. Now, the actor has spoken out about that exact topic, addressing the pros and cons of consistently being quizzed about playing the iconic Marvel character.

Andrew Garfield is currently on the jury of the Marrakech Film Festival, along with other big names such as Jacob Elordi, Patricia Arquette and Challengers director Luca Guadagnino. During a press conference at the party, Garfield said this (via Variety) about the continued interest in The great Spider-Man:

I want the focus to be on the story I’m telling more than anything else. So I had to work really hard to get fewer people to ask questions about Spider-Man. I’m still working on it, of course. It is an imperfect process.

It sounds like there’s a gift and a curse to being truly known for a truly beloved role. On one hand, it makes you famous and loved, and on the other hand, people continue to see you as the said famous character.

While Andrew Garfield always speaks fondly of his Spider-Man role, even by sharing he could be convinced to return again Last month, he also felt he had to work extra hard to be known as more than a one-trick pony.

While answering questions about Spider-Man can get old, being a superhero has also afforded him some amazing opportunities, like working with Martin Scorsese for 2016 Silence.

Andrew Garfield felt that the legendary director was more likely to hire him for the historical drama because he was a household name by the time he wanted to direct it. Like the We live in time actor said:

I think Marty probably managed to get a passion project made with a guy starring Spider-Man to play a Jesuit priest in 17th century Japan. And the fact that that movie was made with Spider-Man’s help is a beautiful thing.

Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man films were ultimately cut short as the character was rebooted in the MCU Tom Holland‘s version and a devastating end for his Peter Parker. However, the actor was given another chance to play the character Spider-Man: No way home.

The actor has spoken about it before not thinking he would ever wear the suit againbut now that he has, we really wish he would continue to be a part of the Spider-Man films. For example, why wasn’t he in the Poison movies?
