Hong Kong store reimburses customers after 66 Hermes handbags stolen in 5-minute heist

A Hong Kong store has compensated customers whose Hermes handbags were stolen or damaged by thieves who made off with 66 products worth HK$10 million (US$1.3 million) during a five-minute heist.

A spokesperson for Ginza Xiaoma, the luxury goods resale store where the robbery occurred, said Saturday that the company has fully compensated the consignors, in accordance with its policies.

Police said they received a report at 7.54am that three robbers had broken into the store at the New World Tower on Queen’s Road in Central, before smashing the display cabinets and taking the luxury items.

The trio were seen carrying three large white bags before fleeing the scene in a seven-seater car, police added.

Police noted that 66 Hermes handbags, worth approximately HK$10 million, were stolen in the burglary.
